A man identified as Danish has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr after a video showing him spitting on rotis during a wedding went viral on social media. The video, which sparked widespread outrage, showed the man preparing rotis and deliberately spitting on them before serving.
Following the viral clip, police quickly identified the man and arrested him on Sunday. Senior police officer Tejveer Singh confirmed the arrest, stating that an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
Police sources said such incidents have been reported earlier in the state. In May and August this year, similar cases were recorded in Meerut and Baghpat where food handlers were caught on camera spitting on rotis while cooking.
Authorities have warned that strict action will continue to be taken against anyone found engaging in such acts that endanger public hygiene and offend social sensibilities.
